That's right, today we became full-fledged residents of Ghana. After a long and cumbersome, frustrating, somewhat questionnable process involving a crazy doctor's visit and passive aggressive immigration officer, we received our permits. This means that Tim can work here legally, get paid by Waste Enterprisers (which is a definite plus!), and Carole can be here longer than 6 months at a time. The permit only lasts for a year, so we will have to renew at least once more while here, but next year's process should be simpler (*knocking on wood really hard*).
We have learned to celebrate every success. It keeps us motivated, and makes it more meaningful when we achieve goals, no matter how small. And this was a big accomplishment, celebrated over a bottle of cold Star (cheap, decent, local beer).
